Welcome to the International Society for Proteinopathies! We are a passionate community of students and researchers dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of proteinopathies—complex diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and various amyloidosis that result from protein misfolding.

Proteinopathy is a group of neurodegenerative diseases characterized by the misfolding and accumulation of specific proteins. Common examples include Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD). We are concerned with the mechanisms of key biomarkers such as amyloid beta and tau proteins.
Alzheimer's Disease is the most common type of dementia prevalent among older adults. The etiology of AD is multifactorial, involving interactions between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Despite extensive research, a definitive cure remains elusive, emphasizing the need for advanced engineering strategies.
Our research is driven by a commitment to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of protein misfolding diseases. Through our collective efforts, we seek to gain deeper insights into these complex disorders, paving the way for breakthroughs that will improve patient outcomes and contribute to the global fight against proteinopathies.
